Wells Fargo and Major League Triathlon Team Up For Major League Triathlon Charlotte
Charlotte, NC (May 2, 2017) – Wells Fargo, the world’s second-largest bank by market capitalization, has come on board to partner with Major League Triathlon for Major League Triathlon Charlotte. MLT’s first event in Charlotte, NC is just a few blocks away from the Wells Fargo skyscraper that headlines Charlotte’s skyline.
While the financial institutions global headquarters are in San Francisco, Charlotte is a large hub for the bank, with over 20,000 employees in the regional area. Wells Fargo focuses on commercial banking, offering its services to anyone that would like to open a bank account. Wells Fargo traces its roots back to 1852, where it was founded in New York, New York by Henry Wells and William Fargo.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Wells Fargo to the Major League Triathlon family.” Said Daniel Cassidy, Chief Executive Officer at Major League Triathlon. “Wells has a massive presence in the Charlotte area (our hometown) and is an industry leader. The eight teams in this professional triathlon will consist of 32 of the best elite triathletes from all over the world. Each athlete will swim 300 meters, bike four miles and run one mile, one at a time, before tagging their next teammate. The first team to have all four athletes cross the finish line will win.
Wells Fargo will have a large presence at MLT Charlotte’s expo coming up on May 20th. Spectators and fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the world famous Wells Fargo Carriage throughout the event. Wells Fargo will also be on hand to meet MLT’s fans and show their support of the hometown, Carolina Gliders.
Major League Triathlon
Major League Triathlon is the first and only professional triathlon league in the United States. Major League Triathlon hosts races in major cities across the United States. MLT was formed in 2016 with the goal of creating a more spectator-friendly version of triathlon. MLT aims to grow the sport of triathlon on both an amateur and professional level.
