Barrie Shepley Joins Major League Triathlon As The Official Broadcast Announcer Of MLT
Charlotte, NC (June 28, 2018)- Major League Triathlon is proud to announce that Barrie Shepley will join the MLT team as the official broadcast announcer of Major League Triathlon. The long-time ITU announcer, coach and triathlon icon will join Major League Triathlon for all 2018 events.
Major League Triathlon, the first and only professional triathlon league in North America has announced that Barrie Shepley will be an integral part of the Major League Triathlon broadcast team in 2018 and beyond. Shepley’s coaching company, Personal Best Coaching, will also become the official Coaching Partner of Major League Triathlon. This news comes just days after MLT made the groundbreaking announcement of a partnership with USA Triathlon to launch the MLT Super Sprint Series.
“This is a huge step for Major League Triathlon,” said Daniel Cassidy, CEO of Major League Triathlon. “Barrie is an icon in the sport and has called some of the biggest races in the world. Over 3 decades, Barrie has worked with everyone from Olympic champion Simon Whitfield, Kona medalist Lionel Sanders and dozens of Pan American & World Championship athletes. We are committed to taking our broadcast package to the next level and Barrie Shepley will be a significant part of the evolution of the events.”
Shepley’s first MLT broadcast will be MLT Atlantic City on July 21st, 2018. Shepley believes that endurance fans will be glued to their screens watching how fast, dynamic and unpredictable the mixed team race format is. To catch all of the action, make sure to follow Major League Triathlon on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. All four events will be live streamed through Facebook Live on the Major League Triathlon Facebook page in 2018.
“I’ve been lucky enough to call virtually the entire careers of icons like Whitfield, Gomez, Brownlee, Jorgenson and Duffy. Having a chance to work with Daniel and the MLT Family is an exciting opportunity that I just couldn’t pass up” said Barrie Shepley. “Triathletes are incredible athletes with unique back-stories and my goal with the MLT Series will be to help viewers get to know more about the athletes while the intense & faced paced mixed team races are occurring” said Shepley. “I am so impressed with the quality of the teams that Daniel has attracted to the 2018 North American MLT Series. The Triathlon world has a few great race series that allow the world’s best to consistently race each other, but North America has fallen behind over the last decade. Daniel & the MLT Series are changing that in a big way.”
